Junior Cory Conley has an interesting life. As a high school student, he is involved in many different activities, both in school and out of school.
In school, Conley spends his extra curricular time with musicals and plays, band and choir. Outside of school, Conley has a construction job working part time when he is not doing everything else in his life.
Conley has two older sisters, Janette and Mandy. As a family, they spend many weekends together playing games and talking. When they go on vacations, most of the time they go to Colorado to ski and snowboard.
Conley is actively involved in music both in school and out. In school, Conley participates in the musicals including the most recent, Crazy for You. Outside of school, Conley is in the band “Fountain City Youth Brass Band.”
“Music means so much to me because it is incredible to see a group of so many different people come together and make something wonderful,” Conley said.
One thing that many do not know about Conley is that when he was younger, he was very awkward.
“When I was a kid, I was pigeon toed.” Conley takes a short laughing break then continues with, “When I was a kid, I was pigeon toed, I was chubby, I had braces, and I wore glasses. I was a little disaster when I was a kid,” Conley said.
From the age of 5 to 12, Conley’s feet faced in with every step that he took. His parents addressed the issue as Conley continued to grow. To correct his feet, Conley spent his time looking at his feet and making sure that they were straight as he walked.
Although this issue is still a struggle for Conley as he goes on with his high school career, he knows that he can work through it and continue his life as if he was never affected by the disease “pigeon toes.”
