With the school year coming to an end, an event that most juniors and seniors look forward to is prom.

This year prom was held on April 28 at the Olathe Ball Conference Center.

The  theme of prom was “Tropical Paradise”.

The conference center was decked out in pastel colors and other tropical decor.

“I think everyone enjoyed prom. We tried to have something that everyone would like,” prom committee president Aylin Rocha said.

From a photo booth to music and competitive board games, prom night is a night that will never be forgotten.

“I loved prom, especially planning it. The best part was just knowing the time and effort spent in planning it was well worth it when I was able to see it all come together at the actual dance,” fundraising coordinator Zekkiah Hird said.

To raise the funds and make prom the best it could be, the prom committee participated in several fundraisers throughout the school year.

Their main fundraiser was the Natalie M Fashion Show, where they raised a total of $3,500.

“Prom wouldn’t be possible without the awesome staff members, parents and students that were willing to spend time planning, decorating, chaperoning and cleaning up,” prom sponsor Caroline Friday said.
