Homecoming week will kick off on Monday with Monochromatic Monday. Tuesday is 80’s Workout Day, Wednesday is Nerd Day, Thursday is “Would you still be my friend if I wore this …” and Friday is Spirit Day.
New De Soto High School Principal Mark Meyer wants to make Homecoming a special week for students, staff and the De Soto community and promote even more school spirit and tradition.
“I’ve always viewed Homecoming as a very special time of the year,” Meyer said. “The focus these days is about our students and the coronation of the King and the Queen, the dance and all that goes with it, but internally, it’s about school spirit.”
Students are encouraged to get involved with their class hallway decorations Friday during Seminar, and this year the class with the best decorations, parade float and overall spirit will win the first DHS spirit stick.
Thursday at 6:30 pm, the Homecoming Parade will start at the De Soto Community Center and will be followed by the annual pep rally and Victory “V” lighting.
