With boys’ varsity basketball off to a 6-2 start, the Wilcats intend to keep improving throughout the remainder of the season.

“We are preparing for the postseason by challenging each other every day at practice and bringing intensity to the court,” senior forward Wyatt Noll said.

Coming off a most recent loss vs. Lansing high school, 57-41, they are coming with a vengeance to improve for the rest of the season, along with important goals and milestones for the team.

“Our goal as a team is to get back to the State tournament and make a run.  Everyone on the team believes we are capable of winning a State championship,” senior guard Jackson Miller said.  

This year has been completely different from previous years.  New obstacles and regulations have forced the team to persevere.

“This season has been weird because we have had to practice with masks on, but we’ve all had to make that sacrifice in order to have a season,” said University of Wyoming commit and senior Nate Barnhart.

That hasn’t been the only major obstacle for the team this year.  New guidelines and safety restrictions have also limited fans.

“The team has had to battle through many conditions, whether it’s the empty gyms or having to wear a mask,” Miller said.

With a little over half the season to go, the team has had their focus set on improving for the postseason the whole time.

“We’re getting ready and locked-in every day at practice and competing hard to get better,” senior guard/forward Hayden Henderson said.

With a positive start to the season and considerable goals and milestones, anything is possible for these Wildcats.
