De Soto High School has high expectations for someone who is considered “Wildcat of the Week.”
Freshman Brooke Stonestreet is exceeding those expectations with a positive attitude and hard work towards her grades and while playing volleyball.
Stonestreet is the only freshman playing on varsity volleyball this fall. With her ability to hit a ball and her personality, the upperclassmen are very welcoming to the freshman.
Junior setter Kennedy Higgins thinks of Stonestreet as someone who will be a contributor towards the team.
“I like setting Brooke because she is a confident hitter and tries her best to get a kill each and every time,” Higgins said.
With volleyball season just starting, Stonestreet and the team have high set goals this year.
“Our team goals are to win league and have a winning record and win Sub-State,” Stonestreet said.
These team goals are achievable for the varsity crew especially adding Stonestreet.
Stonestreet is excited for her first DHS volleyball season.
“I am most excited for the Dig Pink match and the tough competition we will be facing this year,” Stonestreet said.
