Two De Soto High School girls’ golf team members competed at State on Oct. 15 and placed in the top 10.
Sophomore Brittani Jenson received fourth place and senior Rhiannon Caldwell received eighth place, making them the highest placing female golfers in DHS history.
In the end, Jenson shot a 75 and Caldwell shot a 86.
Jenson said the best part about competing in State was “playing with the best in state.”
She also said the highlight of the season was winning the majority of the tournaments the team competed in.
“I think we won seven of the eight tournaments,” Jenson said.
This year was also the first time there have been two girls’ golf team members that placed in the top 10 at once.
Both players improved from last year when Jenson placed 10th overall and Caldwell placed in the top third of all of the State qualifiers.
With the general success of the team and two members making DHS history, the golf team had arguably one of its most successful seasons.
