Kansas Winter Fun – Activities to do during winter break
Along with winter break comes a massive amount of free time that may leave students with a feeling of boredom if they have nothing particularly exciting to do. However, there are numerous activities that they can take advantage of in the area throughout winter break with the vast majority of the options being inexpensive.
First off is the Winter Magic display located in Kansas City, Missouri. Winter Magic is a drive-through Christmas light display available from Nov. 2 through Jan. 2. It is a Covid friendly environment that allows people to remain in their vehicles while rejoicing in holiday cheer with the cost per vehicle ranging from $20 to $25.
Moreover, there are several ice rinks available to the public near De Soto. One of the most popular options being the Crown Center Ice Terrace in Kansas City, Missouri. The Ice Terrace is open seven days a week with varying hours. For the months of November, December and January the ice rink is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and is open till 11 p.m. from Friday through Saturday.
The price is very affordable at only $8 for admission and skate rentals being $4. Going with friends or family can be a lot of fun and can also create memorable experiences.
Finally, for any coffee loving students, the opportunity to experience a new coffee chain has arrived.
Dutch Bros, an Oregon-based coffee chain, has opened a new location in Kansas City, Kansas.
The chain has hundreds of locations in over 11 states with the Legend’s location being the first to open in Kansas. Dutch Bros is incredibly popular all over the country and definitely lives up to its expectations. If students do end up trying Dutch Bros, the Cinnamon Swirl with oat milk is highly recommended.
Overall, Kansas has a multitude of enticing opportunities for students who do not have any definite plans for Winter break.
