It is that that time of the year again—Homecoming season. This includes the Homecoming football game, dance, parade, pep assembly and spirit week.
This years Homecoming dance theme is One Auntumn Night.
During Spirit Week each school day has its own theme. The goal of this is to “help students show spirit for the school and to get everyone excited for Homecoming,” said sophomore Student Council representative Gabby Mallozzi.
This year’s spirit week starts on Sept. 29 and ends on Oct. 3.
“Even if you don’t plan on going to the dance, spirit week is a good way to have fun with your friends and support your grade,” said sophomore StuCo Representative Taylor Ramseyer.
Monday’s theme is Class Color Day. Each grade has a color to wear. Senior color is blue, junior color is black, sophomore color is white, and freshmen color is green. The goal is to wear as much of the designated color as you can in order to show spirit.
On Tuesday, dress up in all things American. Wear anything red, white and blue along with anyhting that symbolizes America.
Fake an Injury Day happens on Wednesday, so gather up the fake blood and borrow some gauzes and bring a brace or two to complete the look.
“[I’m looking foward to] fake an injury day because I think it will be cool to see what people come up with,” junior Amber Fulling said.
Sports Team Day happens on Thursday. Any sports apparel counts. This includes things like jerseys, face paint and any team themed accesories.
Finally to conclude spirit week, Friday’s theme is Wildcat Day. Support DHS by wearing anything DHS. This can also be worn to the Homecoming football game to cheer on the team.
“I would have to say I’m most looking forward to spirit day just because I don’t really like dressing up and that’s the easiest one to do,” sophomore Emily Euler said.
Prizes will happen in the form of Class Cup points. These points will be added to each grades overall total in the competition for the Class Cup.
Posters are also located around the school for people to double check on which day has what theme so feel free to take a look at those as well.
