Kristen Meyer, school improvement specialist at Starside Elementary, was named the new assistant principal at De Soto High School, following USD 232 School Board approval at its monthly Board meeting Feb 11.

An Ottawa University graduate, Meyer joined Starside in 2007 and was recognized with the Kansas State Horizon Award in 2008.  She completed her graduate degree in administration from Baker University in 2011.

Meyer’s tenure with DHS for the 2013-14 school year will begin at a to-be-determined date this summer.
