While the soccer season ended last week after the game against Tonganoxie not all players are done with soccer for the year.
Junior Dustin Seibolt plays soccer almost all year round in club teams as well as on the schools soccer team.
“Soccer has become basically the only sport I play now since I play year round on club teams,” Seibolt said.
While Dustin used to play more sports for the school soccer has become his main concern. He still wanted to play other sports during the school year such as baseball, but playing for the club teams takes up the time he would be able to play for the school.
Seibolt’s plan is to hopefully get a scholarship for soccer. Playing for the school is still a good way to achieve this, but most of his opportunity comes from the club teams he plays on.
“During some of the games for my club teams there are often a lot of scouts watching us, even more scouts then when I play for the school,” Seibolt said.
A lot of the times Seibolt will have to travel to other states during the weekend to play in tournaments, often taking up his entire weekend.
“It sucks missing out on the weekend, but it’s a great opportunity and playing is definitely worth it,” Seibolt said.
Even though his school soccer season is done for the year Seibolt still gets the chance to play his favorite sport continually throughout the year.
