In today’s society, I have noticed a trend in students constantly complaining about being busy. However, when asked about the contents of their previous evening, they tell me a story of how they took a nap, watched some television, ate a snack, ate dinner, and sat for awhile before actually starting their assignment. Because of this, I do not think that the majority of students have the right to complain.
I will not deny that I am one who resorts to complaining in numerous instances. For example, most evenings I spend either at work until 9 p.m. and then doing homework until 1 a.m. or at dance for three or more hours and then doing homework until midnight. As a result, the next day I am known to walk zombie-like into the school with little to no expression.
After these nights I am known to rant about how tired I am or how late I have stayed up working the night before. However, I do not agree with my behavior. I chose to sign up for and conquer as much as I did and I should be held responsible for the work. This belief should be extended over all students. Simply complaining over being tired is not justified as students have put themselves in the situations that they have.
People need to stop complaining as they are responsible for adding stress to their lives. The people who are listening to you complain are not to blame for the decisions that you have made regarding your own schedule. Embrace your hectic schedule, take a breather and just keep working because complaining will not make the stress any easier.
