Hello my fine high school colleagues. Welcome to a wonderful new year… and my amazingly awesome blog. Let me inform you on what you will find while reading this collection of entertaining posts.
First, I will introduce myself. If you do not know me, I am Makenzie Hill, I am a junior, and I am a Mormon. My blog will mostly be about my experiences in high school as a Mormon teenager, BUT I must explain some things. I see the world differently than many high school students. I am a devout Mormon and I love my church. I believe in my standards and I hold strongly to them. I do not drink, smoke, dress like most teenage girls and I do not curse.
I know what some of you might be thinking, “Wow, this girl is no fun, and she is probably so judgmental.” The answer to both of those questions is NO. I am constantly a bucket full of joy. For the most part, I make tons of hilarious statements, some of my humor is subpar but I commit to them anyways. When I am in a place where I feel comfortable, you can describe my mental state as casually insane. While I’m with my friends, who share my beliefs about partying, drugs and other delinquent activities, we party OUR way and have a rockin’ time. I promise this blog will not be condemning or mean. My goal will be to explain to you how I see the world around me, and what it is like to be a religious minority in high school; I will not be aiming to judge anyone on the way that they live. I will simply be explaining the way that my brain processes the events around me. I hope I haven’t scared you off… ENJOY!
