Nearly 100 years ago, the Titanic sank, on April 15, 1912. What was supposed to be “the ship of dreams,” ended up killing roughly 1,500 people by hitting an ice burg. In December 1997, a movie was made about this ship, reenacting its sinking and following a love affair between a lower class man and an upper class woman. It won 11 Academy Awards and was nominated for 14. This film is Titanic and it starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. This movie was one of the most expensive movies ever made (at its time) and was the highest grossing film of all time, not to mention a true classic. Now the Titanic is being re-released for the 100 year anniversary of its sinking. It will be in theaters on April 4, but the difference is, this movie will be in 3D. There are mixed feelings about this re-release of the film coming out in 3D, some don’t think going to see it is worth it since “everyone has seen it already,” but others disagree and want to see this film again on the big screen.
