Within the last two weeks, I have had the privilege of using many new design products in Adobe’s CS5 collection.
Since Nov. 21, I have been working on many different projects, and I had to use some programs that I have not had the best of luck with, in particular, Adobe Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator is the design industry standard for clean looking logos, designs and much more. I was asked by Mitra Templin, a former member of the De Soto City Council, to design a logo for Zimmerman’s Farmstead. Being my first, official commission, my art teacher, Tim Mispagel is helping out by giving input to make the logo look the best it can.
Later in the week I applied for a job as a graphic artist at a clothing design company called Making Moves. Shortly after being hired, my boss had me make over 10 images for his newest graphic T-shirts.
After showing my ability to create designs in a timely manner, I was asked to create my own clothing line. My boss suggested to me start off with T-shirts and move from there.. With his advice the production of my clothing line Thunderbolt started.
Thunderbolt is a line of tattoo inspired clothing that features work by myself and another artist. With my two current designs, Velvet Rose Red and Sapphire Grace, I am starting to use Adobe products more heavily then I have in the past and I continue learn more and more every day.
With time, I hope to become more fluent in the Adobe products and to have my part of clothing line released in January of 2012.
