Forensics kicks off the season looking forward
The De Soto High Forensics team began another season this semester with a growing number of participants and a greater chance of making it to State.
Junior Grace Lindsey believes this year will hold major improvements for the team.
“There are way more people in Forensics this year and being 5A will certainly change things in means of State qualifications,” Lindsey said.
For those who don’t know, Forensics, led by Amanda Sweet and Jason Hagg, is a competitive speech and acting class which takes performances to meets at various schools in the area.
According to Lindsey, the increased number of freshmen and newcomers joining the class holds a lot of potential.
“The more people, the more pieces [performed] and the more pieces means the more chances we have to go to State.”
The first meet takes place on Jan. 28 at Gardner-Edgerton High School. Lindsey will be performing a humorous interpretation of Confessions of a Shopaholic.
