Sewing club continues into 2016-17 school year
Sewing club at De Soto High Schoolhas sprang into action again for the 2016-17 school year.
The club is led by FACS teacher Caroline Friday, and the president of the club is junior Payton Faddis.
Sewing club first began last year and has continued into the new school year. The club meets every week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
According to Faddis her love for sewing in middle school inspired her to start the club.
“It started because we all loved to sew in middle school and Mrs. Friday was our teacher in middle school,” Faddis said. “We all just thought that when she came to DHS that we could continue sewing and it would be fun.”
Most students in sewing club find their ideas from Pinterest and have the goal of creating projects that are do-it-yourself.
“Creating new projects while getting to sew and meet new people is probably the best part of the club,” Faddis said.
Any students are welcome to join the club and work on any sort of project.
“If you also just need help with sewing or if you want to do your own thing, you’ll be able to do that too,” Faddis said.
Sewing club has successfully completed many DIY projects and is excited to continue sewing in the future.
